<p><strong>Clout archery</strong> is a form of archery in which archers shoot arrows at a flag (known as "the Clout") from a relatively long distance and score points depending on how close each arrow lands to the flag.</p><p>Scoring zones are defined by maximum radii from the flag pole. Each arrow scores points depending on which scoring zone it enters the ground in. An arrow embedded in the flag pole is counted as being in the highest scoring zone. The shoot consists of one course of 20 3D animals shot twice for a total of 40 animals. At the end of the second round, prize money will be awarded. Lunch will not be provided. The cost to shoot is $20 for adults and $10 for kids 14 and under ( no payout). Range finders are allowed and recommended. We will use IBO scoring: 11, 10, 8, 5.

A 720 Round consists of 12 ends of 6 arrows for a total of 72 arrows at a standard 122cm 10-ring target: (12 ends x 6 arrows = 72 arrows). The distance and target size depending on the bow style. Archers shoot at a 122cm target @ 70 meters (Recurve) or 80cm target @ 50 meters (Compound) during a 720 Round. A perfect score of 72 arrows all hitting the 10 ring would be 720 points.

This shoot takes place on our front practice range with targets starting from 10 yards out to 65 yards, with a different 2D paper animal target on each; traditional shooters and youths may choose to shoot out to only 30 yards max. Each distance will be shot with 3 arrows, then archers move to the next distance and shoot again, looping through all distances twice per night.
